About: Food For Sleep's latest self titled EP was described by lead singer, Lee Perkins, as "An album for astronauts." The four piece band out of Delaware recorded the five song extended play with deliberate crescendos that seem to add the perfect soundtrack for breaking through atmospheres and exiting the ether. Each song has a slightly different influence and intent, but all share a sense of accomplishment at their breaking point. Taking their cues from bands like The Appleseed Cast, Explosions in the Sky, and Death Cab for Cutie, Food For Sleep has constructed a sound that will invite most shoe-gazers to lift their heads.
The most effective way to describe Food For Sleep's enrapturing style, is to say that any listener who dreams of the day that they can stare out of their car window at the rain soaked trees, capturing introspective revelations from their ghostly reflection in the glass, while listening to melodramatic, movie script music, and still be classified as anything but emo... wait no longer.
